Empathy

The art of listening and communicating
with Viren

Osho says that many people have lost their capacity to empathize with others. Instead, they often advise, correct, educate, fix, tell stories, or sympathize. In this group you will learn how to use Nonviolent Communication to listen empathetically to others and to yourself, even in the difficult moments.

This work teaches you to connect with what is alive in you right now. This aliveness is not mental, it is visceral—in your body and heart. Once connected, you can find a way to express yourself without blaming or being critical. You learn to understand that whatever someone does, it comes from the motivation to meet his or her own needs. Connecting to the aliveness of the other through empathy, you can understand those needs, even when they are not your own.

This is a loving process, built on the work of Marshall B. Rosenberg, Nonviolent Communication. You will discover that it helps you in your ordinary life to be more present with what is.
